During the Anti-Bullying month of October, Governor Brown signed into law AB 1156, the Anti-Bullying Law for schools. As of July 1, 2012, this law would require the training of schoolsite personnel in the prevention of bullying, as defined in the bill, under this provision to be a component in the development of school safety plans.
So, every school in California needs inservice training for their staff in Anti-Bullying strategies.
Help Family Fuel Help our Community
Family Fuel is a local nonprofit that equips parents & educators with powerful tools to raise respectful, responsible, and resilient kids.
We provide parent education, teacher trainings and assemblies for kids surrounding the issue of bullying, general parenting and classroom management. WE NEED YOU to help us provide great strategies for schools and families by connecting us with your local school.
Our approach includes strategies for:
The Victims - Neutral, non-retaliatory, non-judgemental responses to bullies to empower them in non-physical bullying
The Bullies - Setting and enforcing limits with restitution-style consequences instead of punishments
The Bystanders - To do "something" depending on the specific situation
The Parents - Listening to your child and empowering them if they are the victim, listening to others when your child has done bullying behavior
The Teachers - Strategies to deal with bullying situations in an effective, yet non-punitive way
The Administrators - Strategies to manage relationships with parents & teachers as well as with kids
School budgets are shrinking, and bullying at schools is growing...
YOU can also help by adopting a school! You donate to cover the costs of an Anti-Bullying Package for an elementary school.
