Enter the great tombs and temples of the powerful, andcunning men and women who ruled imperial China
With Over 150 Exceptional Chinese Works Of Art Acquired For Use In The Afterlife By Men And Women Of Power, Wealth And Taste. Visitors will see spectacular recent discoveries from the Qin-era imperial tomb of the ruthless First Emperor Qin Shihuangdi including a chariot horse and four terra cotta warriors one of which is the only known warrior with a face painted green. Seldom seen outside of China are the intricately carved miniature armies that once guarded the tombs of Han emperors and their aristocracy. The Tang dynasty was the height of taste and luxury; from the royal tombs and temples of the imperial city of Xi’an is an opulent showing of wealth: gold, silver, and gemstones. Among these treasures is a set of four nesting boxes that once held Buddha’s finger bone and is still considered one of the most holy religious relics.
